Pit fighter for the Sega Genesis is not listed and I just went through hrs of cleaning up the image I scanned in gimp. I want to upload it but I can't because it's not in the database at all.

Upload as next game in alphabet order.

But as we only accept perfect covers and this is your first submission (right?) I suggest you first upload to Mediafire or Box and then link here so we can prejudge and give you tips if improvement is needed.

Yep this topic is fine or Genesis cover topic (I think we have one).

Raw scans are all ignored if submitted thru the site as so few have access to them, only readsy cover should be submitted to the site.
Raws  should be submitted thru Mediafire or Box.

I'll check your cover more thoroughly tomorrow after work.

Okay thanks. What if you bump into poor quality uploads? I have had to clean up a few of the uploads i downloaded from this site because they had lots of damage and some even had missing text.

They simply are deleted.

So if one has cover that is not perfect the Mediafire box way is the way to take.

At quick look at your cover: The screenshots are the main reason why the cover does not pass, also retyping the text for perfect text would not go a miss. Other Admins might over-rule and accept the cover as is. (I know I'm sometimes too nit-picky! ;D).

I think he means covers he's downloaded from the site that have imperfections.  I believe he wants to know whether to upload a touched up version.

The answer is probably no, unless the touched up version is now perfect.  A lot of early covers on the site were made with low quality source material, and really need high quality scans to make Site worthy replacements.

By all means link your improved versions in the boards too.

Just wondering what about the screenshots need improvement? They kinda look crappy on the box as well. In fact the first thing i thought when I turned the box around was"What did they point a camera at a crappy crt and take snapshots". Lol. I can Retype the text though. I could probably calm the contrast on the screenshots and the saturation. Thanks.

And main problem with the screenshots is that as the raws have had something wrong you have had to use somesort of blurring filter which has smushed the details.

Yeah actually as scary as it sounds i used unsharp mask to sharpen the image and i think i went too crazy with the contrast. The raw images are actually blurry and nasty. I did lower the contrast though. I just don't know what font is being used for the text on the back. It doesn't look like the original when I type it out. However I was thinking of replacing the seal of quality and the Sega genesis logos to make them clearer. Thanks for the help. :)

An easy way to find out what font is used on the back cover is to crop out a word and save it as a separate image in its raw form. Then, use myfonts.com and go to whatthefont. This will identify the letters in the image you uploaded. After you double check the letters it detects, you click on "Continue" and it will give you a list of matches based on your image. That's what I do to find out what fonts are used on the back cover. If I can't get an exact match, I download a font that is very close to it. That's what I do when I retype text on all my covers.

I just checked it quick.

I don't think the screens are too bad. A bit blurry but well that's retail screens as they were on the covers as well.

BUT the front still has some dirt spots, there is a white line on the right most side of the cover which I suppose happened as there was still some background layer visible when you merged them and the spine were the front goes into the spine is still pretty creased. This is the most difficult part to get perfect on such covers were the front transitions into the spine.
