Tips on what PS1 NTSC U & J to get?

Hi guys. Some tips please on games that are cheap but affordable on the PS1 in  both NTSC U & J that are a must? Please don't suggest games like Captain Commando which are way out of my price range. I'm into Horror, RPG, hack and slash and fighting. Any help appreciated. :)
