Flash carts work very differently from a retail cart. I could be wrong, but I am sure if it was a simple rom change, we'd already have a market flooded with them. --- End quote --- but gameboy carts can be hacked into flash carts so it cant be that different... https://youtu.be/L_ijZM-Ic4c |

--- Quote from: Dr.Agon on June 02, 2015, 04:59:25 AM ---ok, i have a question, a thought experiment if you will, it concerns repros, so i think here is as good a place as any to pose it... id like a physical english copy of mother 3, i know they're out there, but from what i understand, they're essentially flash carts re-packedged, maybe we can take this one step further? buy a game i already own, one which has battery backed saves, (pokemon ruby for example), remove the ROM chip and replace it with the ROM chip of a flash cart which has the english translation already on it, this would remove the flaw of the flash cart, the menu, and the fact that it wouldn't save. way beyond my skillz... so, would this really work?? --- End quote --- Most of them are. I bought mine from a seller on nintendoage.com though and it isn't a flash cart. Its high quality and if you open the shell it looks identical to a board produced by nintendo. I think I bought it for around $55 shipped. I can PM you the name of the seller if you want. |

Woo! So all my carts arrived today. Seems like a great investment. I think I've found a few games that I'll be getting actual repros for that either are super expensive in Japan or just didn't exist, such as Recca and Adventures of Hourai High. Managed to bag: - Romancing Saga - Romancing Saga 2 - Tales of Phantasia - Front Mission Gun Hazard - Dragon Quest V - Secret of Mana (I already have this though) For about $26 bucks. Woo. So if anyone has the knowledge and what I need to translate these bad boys into English. Please flick me a PM. I'd love to learn! |
