Someone should break into Nintendo's vault and get copies of Starfox 2 (SNES), F-Zero BS 2 (SNES) and Ocarina of Time FULL N64+N64DD -version.

If they even still have em. Back then, archiving that stuff wasn't as simple or dependable. Hell, Sega lost the source code for panzer saga. I'm sure they're kicking themselves at this point. Not much hope of that game ever coming back in some virtual console or remastered form at this point.

Well that one dude who made original Starfox said that while making Starfox Assult he got to play genuine completely finished copy of Starfox 2, so that is still definitely exsisting.

As for F-zero all we need is video of the missing 3 tracks and they should be quite easy to replicate.

I would rather get a reproduction, it's the having a physical copy in my hands that I want as collector.  I will however purchase the original game from Japan such as Dig Dug for the famicom or Parodius because those type of games are self explanatory without translation.

ok, i have a question, a thought experiment if you will, it concerns repros, so i think here is as good a place as any to pose it...

id like a physical english copy of mother 3, i know they're out there, but from what i understand, they're essentially flash carts re-packedged, maybe we can take this one step further?

buy a game i already own, one which has battery backed saves, (pokemon ruby for example), remove the ROM chip and replace it with the ROM chip of a flash cart which has the english translation already on it, this would remove the flaw of the flash cart, the menu, and the fact that it wouldn't save. way beyond my skillz...

so, would this really work??

I very much doubt it.  Flash carts work very differently from a retail cart.

I could be wrong, but I am sure if it was a simple rom change, we'd already have a market flooded with them.

Just awaiting my carts in the mail. Ended up getting some super famicom games for like 4-5 bucks each. After some serious thought I'm just gonna get those and then emulate via wii or PC. When I get some spare time one day and locate all the resources, I'll convert them to English

Most of them are. I bought mine from a seller on nintendoage.com though and it isn't a flash cart. Its high quality and if you open the shell it looks identical to a board produced by nintendo. I think I bought it for around $55 shipped. I can PM you the name of the seller if you want.

So all my carts arrived today. Seems like a great investment. I think I've found a few games that I'll be getting actual repros for that either are super expensive in Japan or just didn't exist, such as Recca and Adventures of Hourai High.

Managed to bag:
- Romancing Saga
- Romancing Saga 2
- Tales of Phantasia
- Front Mission Gun Hazard
- Dragon Quest V
- Secret of Mana (I already have this though)

For about $26 bucks. Woo.

So if anyone has the knowledge and what I need to translate these bad boys into English. Please flick me a PM. I'd love to learn!
