To Repro or to Emulate?

ok, i have a question, a thought experiment if you will, it concerns repros, so i think here is as good a place as any to pose it...
id like a physical english copy of mother 3, i know they're out there, but from what i understand, they're essentially flash carts re-packedged, maybe we can take this one step further?
buy a game i already own, one which has battery backed saves, (pokemon ruby for example), remove the ROM chip and replace it with the ROM chip of a flash cart which has the english translation already on it, this would remove the flaw of the flash cart, the menu, and the fact that it wouldn't save. way beyond my skillz...
so, would this really work??

I very much doubt it. Flash carts work very differently from a retail cart.
I could be wrong, but I am sure if it was a simple rom change, we'd already have a market flooded with them.

Just awaiting my carts in the mail. Ended up getting some super famicom games for like 4-5 bucks each. After some serious thought I'm just gonna get those and then emulate via wii or PC. When I get some spare time one day and locate all the resources, I'll convert them to English :D
