Are Blue-ray cases for movies the same as PS4 cases?

I bought a game used for Gamestop (ugh) and the case is kinda in meh condition.

No.  Blu-Ray cases are the same as PS3 cases (although blue obviously), ps4 cases the cover film goes to the top to the case, PS3 cases it goes to about 1.5 cm below the top.

Actually, blu ray cases are slimmer than ps3 or ps4 cases.  Truth be told, Blu ray cases are closest to xbox one in terms of thickness.  but each case is technically its own dimensions.
PS3 and PS4 cases are almost (if not AS) thick as a standard DVD case.

So if you want to swap a ps4 case (or any game case) for a blu ray, it won't match.

I've had good luck with PS3 cases from eBay.  They aren't official cases since they don't have the "Blue Ray" logo on them, but they were brand new.  I paid less than $1 each after shipping, but that was more than a year ago.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Standard EU blu Ray cases are the same as standard EU PS3 cases In thickness, but my comments about differences were aimed towards the sleeve.

Gotcha.  NTSC are all completely different colors, sizes and sleeve dimensions.

Nope.

US and EU PS3 cases are same size, both very different from blu-ray cases.

^ While I can't say for certain, but I have a few cases that size too.  But they're for multiple discs, my blade runner is 4 discs I think.  The standard single disk blu is significantly thinner, by almost half.

Da fug?

This is (or was) my impression as well:

I only have multi disc bluray cases, and maybe few single disc HD-DVD cases, so I can compare but I always thought BR and HD-DVD  cases were identical in size, just different color.

Edit even before posting:
Multi disc BR and single/multi disc HD-DVD are samesize, as is PS3.
Why I still don't believe, and to what I have compared.. ???

Blu and HD DVD are basically the same.  they are closer than anything else we have talked about.  I only have single disc HD DVD and they are as thin as blu, just maroon

As for single disc blu, I have a few hundred of them and they are much thinner.  Multidisc blu USED to be thick, as shown in the blade runner pics, but now it seems they are getting scarce.  Case in point, many multidisc blu rays now have the second disc slot be on the inside cover as opposed to an additional piece of plastic, so the thick cases are no longer as needed.  I see them more for TV series, Disney films and anything else 4 discs and up.
