What could work would be an android based system, that takes flash cards housed in a cart shell. large library already available.

Yeah that's a good idea. The system nees to go two ways. Open Android based hardware which plays flash cards in a cart which you put on yourself.
On the other hand I absolutely want retro download only games like I said, Axiom Verge!!!!!, to come out for it on a flash based cartridge with box and manual!
The question is how to stop pirating them.
sheep2001:
Well, I'm guessing that those really interested would want to buy it for the box/manual etc, and those that pirate wouldn't buy anyway.  So if it's aimed towards the collectors market piracy won't actually hurt sales a great deal.  It's always going to be a niche system though, they'll need production and distribution costs to be near floor level for it to work.

I fear that the retail versions of their games will be around 100 Euro or more to give them some profit.

I posted about this to a Facebook group i regularly read thinking they would like the idea. The responses I heard were all negative whining shitty responses like 'remember the Ouya' and 'why have carts, I will just play games on my PC' and 'digital is the way to go, fuck physical games'....it was a cyclone of fucking negativity.

I guess that is further proof this place is my home for nerding out.  :)

I'm stoked for the idea and I plan on kickstarting it. :)
