A few different games have done this.  Persona, Kartia, RPG maker, Brigandine to name a few.  Granted those are mostly RPGs, but it seems some games just do.  I bought Fade to Black when it was new all those years ago and wondered the same thing.

Good to know.  I'm kind of curious about the double CD jewel case though.  Normally when a game is only one disc, but comes in a two disc case, it's because it either had a demo disc with it (think Resident Evil Director's Cut) or it had a manual so large it wouldn't fit into a normal jewel case (think Gran Turismo).  But I can't figure out the reasoning for Fade to Black.  The insert says 1 disc, so no demo disc, but the manual isn't that large either.  Are you sure there wasn't a second insert that I'm missing?

By the way, I've already transferred it into a proper double CD jewel case.

We had this quite alot in PAL regions.  Rumour was that there weren't enough of the wide PAL cases early on, so a number oif games came in these (Assault Rigs for one).  I don't believe that story though, as it happened way after the Playstation had been around for a while (Destruction Derby 2, Loaded, Re-Loaded for example).  And it certainly wouldnt be the reason for it in the US.

Lol I was asked the same thing yesterday but between craigslist and ebay...Everytime I see one its always being listed between 30-50 for just one (haven't checked sold listings though).  I personally don't think they're worth that much but I don't think they're very common

PS2 (phat one with ilink port) + cables + 1st and 3rd party controllers.

Few genuine PS1 games (10 or so) including FF8 and butt loads of selfburned or pirated ones (100 or so maybe).
PS2 games, maybe 40-50, including Jak and Daxter, FFX and FFXII or FFX-II.

125 Euros.

Just received my Majora's Mask Puzzle. For obvious reason, I didn't expect to receive it in a bag. Kind of a big deception when I thought I would have a nice box to display.

No, it's not authentic but maybe we can make "Official TCP" template for it that anyone can easily dublicate.
