Isopropyl Alcohol or Rubbing Alcohol as it is known has saved 11 carts I have gotten hold of that were said to be faulty/broken and could not be saved!

NEVER use WD40 or anything that isnt at the very least made up of 80% alcohol!!! the key to doing this is to leave no residue whatsoever.......which is why high alcohol content products are the way to go.

WD40 and anything that will leave even a microscopic level of residue might fix a game initially but in the long run it is not good for the connectors or anything electrical because there is always residue left behind and this will build up if you use it more and more.........and worse, will transfer INTO whatever system you are then plugging such carts into.

Isopropyl alcohol disappears pretty much on contact, which is why anyone who works with electronics will only ever use that and nothing else.

And by the way, that cart is totally saveable........I have cleaned worse and got them working.

As I said before a few times I always use Reiniger 601 from Kontakt Chemie. ;D
Has something like Pentan in it and cleans like a charm. Is also extremly volatile.

wiggy:

Don't ever put any fucking Brasso on contacts. That shit is NOT the product to use.

Magic eraser, isopropyl, mars erasers, etc. are far better options. That should clean up just fine.

TDIRunner:

I keep it simple and stick with the IPA and erasers.

Seller let me send it back to him and traded me for tmnt tournament fighters for NES. Very good guy. He goes by Ghost Soldier and I dont think he's posted on this forum much & I wasn't sure whether to trust him or not at first but he is a really good honest guy to trade with!
