I just wanted to make a thread and photo update to show my appreciation to everyone who contributes to the cover project.  I've only been around these forums since March/April, but over that short period of time I've managed to rearrange my games to something a little more organized.  I had a shelf which was enough to hold my remaining console games and DVD's.  Now that I've managed to print off a bunch of covers, that has changed.  Hence, this post.  My small shelf is now full and I will now require some other means of storage as my casing expands.

For the most part, I sold many of my NES/SNES/N64 games when I was a kid, and haven't really bothered trying to get those back as I will just wait for Wii releases or compilation disks for Wii/PlayStation (I still own my N64/NES/SNES/XBOX consoles).  So these photos are pictures of what my printing has entailed thus far.  Most of the printing was to replace my CD cases for PlayStation games, and of course, all of those GBA cases weren't purchased at a retail store.  There are three games that are in my possession right now that I haven't printed covers; namely Tekken 3, Chrono Cross, and Gran Turismo all for the PlayStation.  Sadly, the covers listed on our site for those three games are kind of, well, not great.  The hunt for games never seems to end, however, so I'll post an update sometime again.

Since you were talking about N64/SNES etc, mediashelving.com is backordered on UGC's until November.

Kind of annoying since I was about to place my order and saw that message.

did you print these out yourself or did you go to a printing place such as Staples?

I also noticed that with several cases you did what I do and made some modifications before printing.
 
also, are you using the vertical ps1 template or the horizontal?

Thanks Paul, I only have so many games for NES/SNES left and I kind of want to get rid of those systems with the advent of Wii.  I really like the idea of consolidation for PlayStation 3 and Wii and I don't know how much I like the idea of many systems attached to my entertainment stand (also the lack of cord length is another issue).  I know some games will almost never see VC (Goldeneye) releases, but I don't even know if I care that much.  That sucks they're backordered, though.

I printed the covers off myself.  Printing stores in my area seem to have too much of an issue with printing copyrighted stuff.  I have a Canon i960 and use 8.5x14 Red River Paper Premium Matte #50 185gsm.  I also invested a whole $5 into a nice utility knife to cut DS cases and slice paper for nice clean cuts.

Also, yes, I know it's probably akin to heresy, but I did in fact modify some covers.  I love your covers Lumberjack42, but I just thought it looked too weird having black PS logos mixed with white ones.  So  that was the only change I made there.  The only other case I've modified was for GBA.  The cover we have for Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is in really rough shape.  There's a popular website for castlevania art called Castlevania Dungeon, and I used the front cover of the game they had there as a replacement and touched up the back of the cover before printing. 

For PS1, I use the vertical bar.  I feel it gives it more of an authentic look, and Konami seems to agree with the release of the MGS Essentials collection!

I edit nearly every cover I get to ensure uniformity. My main problem with the vertical psx style is that, to me at least, it makes the artwork feel really "squished".

I know what you mean.  A good example of this are Conn's two cases for Castlevania Chronicles for PS1.  He made both versions.  While the horizontal looks better since it doesn't cutoff as much art, that's the price I decided to pay for uniformity.

Your printed covers look fantastic btw. I haven't been able to print out any for mine yet.
