I get your frustration, but I think this is unlikely since they will not be selling the old retro stuff out of the stores. Since they are keeping everything in their warehouses and selling online, I wouldn't think space would be that much of an issue.

So how many games and how much equipment will they be destroying once they assess that they "don't work" to prevent dumpster divers "reselling garbage"? What happens when they have a tight grip on the used market because your Average Joe figured it's easier to sell to Gamestop than on eBay or Craigslist? I don't like Gamestop as is. It's already hard for retro stores to last in my area. This would prevent future stores from ever even bothering.
