I was hoping to catch the eye of anyone out there that has done some SNES cartridge shell modification (or point me in the direction of someone who has).  I have a Mega Man X2 but the front plastic shell is cracked under the label.  I thought that I would replace the front plastic shell, slap a new label on there and voila!  Unfortunately; my NHL 96 that I picked up does not have the same shell.  I've never open up any SNES games before but I have noticed that the PCB board and contacts come in different shapes, models etc.  So obviously the plastic SNES game shells come in different shapes to hold these different boards.  When viewed from below, the "normal" PCB board types appear to be one piece; but the MM X2 has separation near the ends and looks like 3 pieces.

My question is - are there any other cheap SNES games out there that use the same PCB/plastic shell (from which I could borrow their shell) OR is there a good way to modify (nail file, dremel) a cheap shell that houses a different PCB so that it will fit the PCB that comes with MM X2.  The MM X2 PCB is SHVC-2DCON-01.  I think the only other game that uses this board is MM X3 and i'm not ordering an MM X3 for the shell.  Thanks for reading and any help that you can provide.

The reason for the separation between the contacts in Mega Man X2 is because it uses the Cx4 chip to display wire-frame graphics in the game. These extra contacts are commonly used by any game with an enhancement chip (ie Star Fox and it's Super FX chip). There's a list of games using these chips here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_NES_enhancement_chips
MOST if not all of these games have the extra contacts in them.
One I know for sure has them is Stunt Race FX, which doesn't go for too much on ebay these days. (and you can use the Stunt Race board to make a Star Fox 2 repro! ;D) Hope this helps you out man!  :)

Yah i figured it was cuz of the CX4; but I didn't know the shell would fit anything that used the FX chip.  I noticed my Yoshi's Island and Star Fox 2 have the same PCB connection type at the bottom; but those are both too expensive for me to buy!  I'll scope out FX chip carts; specifically the Stunt Race); thanks dude!
