Yeah, photo is obviously terrible but that does not look good...

Did the cable get jammed up against something while it was plugged into the Saturn?  It almost looks like the Saturn might be damaged as well, but it's hard to tell with the blurry picture.  Are you using your phone to take the picture?  Sometimes, I get better results by snapping off two or three pictures in a row.  Often times the first one is blurry, and the second or third one is crystal clear.

Well Saturn kind of looked like that before, but might have got even worse. I think that's a good pic. The cable got bent as I was moving stuff around.

Wow. Yea my Saturn never looked as good as that. Nor did my cable. I did order a cable to see if it fits, but now I have a feeling my socket is damaged. After that, gotta figure out the next step. Do you think I can trust the Saturn CONSOLE ONLY (no controller or cables) products on sale on Amazon? The Ebay ones are much pricier.

Before investing in a new Saturn I would, very carefully, with the power off, use a sharp object or paper clip on the socket of your existing one.  Do not poke into the holes, just clear away any bits of plastic that are obstructing the holes.  As long as you haven't already rammed plastic inside, obstructing the connections, you should be ok.  Do this before trying to force your new cable into it. 

Looks like someone has been VERY heavy handed with it in the past.

I'm wondering how difficult it would be to swap out the socket with a new one.  You migt have a hard time finding a replacement socket, but if you do, it might be cheaper than finding a new Saturn.

We you might have a good idea. I wonder if anyone can elaborate on this. The cable is coming soon and I'm hoping it works. I'll use the paper clip as suggested.
