I got out of the figurine business when Skylanders Giants was released.

I have a 5 year old daughter whom I buy these type of games for. I have purchased her Skylanders and Disney infinity. Amiibos pushed the market to the limits in my opinion. Lego Dimensions is the tipping point. The market is officially over saturated.

These companies really love to kill a good thing. They fail to realize that there isn't enough room for everyone. It reminds me of the Guitar Hero era; when you'd walk into a store and there's be DJ Hero, Rock Band 3, Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero Van Halen, Guitar Hero Aero Smith, Guitar Smith, Rock Band Beatles, Rocksmith, Band Hero, Rock Revolution etc... It's too much. I feel like vomiting.

Damn It!!!  Why must they make me want to spend money!?!  And when I don't have any to spend too.  Jerks!   >:(

I kind of have to agree though.  I mean, the LEGO games franchise seems tailor made for something like this, but when Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and some others doing the same sort of portal importation thing, do we really need another one?  Not that it really matters much.  It's pretty much a license to print money at this point and honestly, if I had the funds, I'd dive head first into this one.  I can't help myself.  LOL.

Speaking of Lego games and Legos.

1: I want sequel to Lego City Undercover AND I WANT IT NOW!!!

2A: I hope they would make Lego building game where all piece types ever made would be available.
2B: I hope Lego would make site where one could order every piece types ever made at reasonable prices.

This way I could design sets and then order the pieces I need.

I remember some sort of program where you can make a Lego model in 3D and have them ship it to you.

I also Googled Lego Dimensions and got this:

I think this game was named badly.

I also found this, I kinda want this for at leas a Power Plaid session.

No lie... LEGO City Undercover was and still is the ONLY reason I briefly wanted a WiiU or 3DS.  Actually almost bought a 3DS just to play that game, but just couldn't justify buying a system for one game, even if it looked really awesome.

@ Segamer

Rocksmith was actually a pretty good thing though. It was to help teach you how to play a real guitar. I bought the game (beings as I'm a guitarist) obliterated all the teqhnique exercises in about 20 minutes. I couldn't beat the game though due to the horid music tracks that was on the game. I'm sorry but AC-DC, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, and Megadeath may be good to start with, but I was hoping for more advanced music. (Which I can't stand any of those bands in the first place, in fact I loath them.)
Then on too of that, you had to play through all those songs just to unlock pedals and amps to play with. I have up.

And that's one reason I've never liked any music game really. The lack of better music.

Sorry to get side tracked lol.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

This shit annoys me.  Sure my kid will love this sort of thing when he's old enough (which is fine with me), but as an adult collector, I don't want to be hassled with toy add-ons for my video games.  Games are already freakin' toys. I don't need more toy in my toys. There's enough already.

This.

One of the things I love about collecting games is that I can fit a very large collection in a small area.  Figures, not so much.  And if I leave them in the original packaging (as many do), that takes up even more room.  Plus the idea of trying to get each and every one and dealing with scalpers snatching them all up just makes me say "forget it."
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I think there is a place for this, but it's gotten a little nuts. Half the game section at WalMart looks like the toy section!!

I want the option of CARDS. Toys are great for kids, but I just don't have the place for them. I bought a couple Amiibos, as they were great figurines, but stopped when they got to popular. I just wanted them for display, but now there are to many to bother with and are crazy expensive.

I'm back to just picking up random toys. Actually for a HUGE plush Tails (36"?) and a 12" Plush DK for $2 ea. Also about 12 Pokemon plush toys for .25 each this past weekend, and I'm much happier with those buys!

Sadly I think this toy-in-game trend will continue to grow.  Maybe it will mature to something sustainable, as it stands right now retailers are already looking cramped.

The "cards" system has been done before and flopped. It was the e-reader for the GBA, so unless they do something better, like make the cards out of plastic or some engenious way to make them sell better, they would flop again. The amiibos sell well because they are toys so little kids want them. They are also collectible, so of course, out come the scaplers to inflate the prices for resale.
