So as I'm getting my logistical stuff ready before I order my first case of UGCs, I've got a question if anyone could help enlighten me. I know Staples can be difficult about copyright depending on the clerk, so I'm a bit undecided on whether I should try Staples or print them myself. Obviously printer ink isn't cheap, and I know that how much ink gets used can depend on the type of printer and settings and cover and whatnot, but for your standard run-of-the-mill Epson multifunction printer, approximately how many covers do yall think I can get printer before needing to buy more ink? I'm trying to figure out the average cost difference between printing them at home and trying to get Staples to do it. I know Staples will charge something like $0.70 per page, but since I rarely print at home, I don't really have a frame of reference for my printer's ink use. Sorry if that was a convoluted and/or stupid question. I appreciate any advice that anyone can offer. |

Depends on printer, print settings, cart capacity, and paper you plan to use to some degree. |

It depends on so many things, but as a general rule of thumb I tend to get around 50 prints out of my XL ink cartridges. That's using matte photo paper and with the print settings set at the highest quality. I base that number off of the fact that I tend to replace my ink after about two boxes worth of paper or 50 sheets. Sometimes the ink goes faster. I only got about 25 prints out of my black cartridge when I did my Odyssey2 covers (they are mostly black). I'm getting ready to do my SNES covers which are also very black heavy, so that's going to be costly. |
