The PS3 port was an upgrade by definition, but was no amazing leap - the PS4 version better make it look like a new PS4 game, or it is a waste of time and money.

Beating a dead horse imo, and I'm a huge ff fan.

Honestly, they should just give a full remake to their old classics. I'd love to see 6, 7 8 and 9 completely remade. I think their stories really shone through, hell maybe even a sneaky chrono trigger remake.

Only in my wildest dreams though.

I would like to Remaster for Final Fantasy XII but, it's too bad that Square Enix is mostly never going remake Final Fantasy VII, VIII or IX. This supposedly a comparison  image between the PS4-PS3 which has noticeable differences.

I wouldn't mind a polished up 12 either, that could be a bit of fun.

One can only hope, I mean at least the demand is there for VII. I'd really appreciate VI. I still think VI probably has one of the most compelling story lines.

I guess the comparison is noticeable but I don't think it's necessary.... but I'll still buy it one day.

I think SE is keeping VII and VI in their back pockets for when they absolutely need a major influx of cash.
Remakes of both would provide massive sales, I'd be willing to bet that an actual remake of either for PS4/X1 would see better sales than the upcoming FFXV or any other SE game would make.

Has anyone pick up the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remaster for PS4? I am waiting for a bit of a price drop first on this game this time.

I got it...sadly.  Basically, if you got it on PS3, this isn't too much of a leap.  If you haven't played it since PS2, I say it's worth it if you're a fan.  I never played the Vita, but I heart it was "meh."  the one difference is that the PS4 version has restored the original music, where the PS3 version "updated it."  PS4 gives you a choice.
Graphics are nice, but nothing to die for.  If you told me this was PS3 I might believe you.  Definitely a step up from PS2, but like I said, if you have it on PS3, this is nothing spectacular.
As for paying for it...I got the special edition because I thought it was a damn nice box.  If you don't care about that, I'd say wait a few months for the inevitable price drop. There is nothing new or exciting here demanding that this be played immediately.

Vita version was DEFINITELY meh, not least because it only had X on the card. X-2 was a download.

I am definitely waiting for the PS4 version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster to drop in price until it's around $30.

might seem like an odd place to ask but has anyone done a cover for X/X-2 that fits with the annaversary covers we got a few years ago?

I kind of eventually want a consistent look for all the Finals across all the various platforms.

DekaPrime, you may want to create a new topic on the request section as you may get more replies. No, there has not been a X/X-2 cover done in the style like the Anniversary covers for the Final Fantasy games.

I was just curious really, I'll start up a thread when I get to the point that I really want to start my re-covering project.
Thank you though
