Hi guys!  Thought I'd share some pictures of my developing game collection!  It's getting converted over to a clean and streamlined setup thanks to this site.  First off, this is my 1st shelf finished up wall to wall with clean covers:

Every other shelf has not been completed, and it drives me nuts that the bookshelves don't match, so I'll probably eventually end up replacing them with a sectional bookshelf (with corner) that I can do an 'L' shaped shelf system with.  Here's a bunch of my other stuff, ready for me to make covers for.  (The top shelf is full of games in UGC cases that don't have art ready on the site, so it's waiting for me to make my own).

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, since there was so much room behind the first shelf, it's lined wall to wall behind the cases with NES and SNES carts.  I haven't decided yet if I want to do UGC or Bit Boxes with the NES, so they're waiting there until I figure out a gameplan.

Thanks guys!  I found a sectional bookshelf at IKEA that I really liked, so I may end up replacing the shelves very soon.  Fritz, thanks for the comment!  My Super Nintendo games are some of my favorite ones to play.

I bought a bigger shelf and changed a few things around.  I was HOPING that I could fit 2 of these shelves side by side, but the damn fireplace is 1 inch too close  >:(

I still want to get rid of the deep shelf and replace it with something like my newer one, but I don't know quite yet what I'm going to do.  I'll keep you posted!  Oh and these things are really going to fill up once I get my NES cases from Shadowfox!

Put them on short legs so they clear the skirting board at the left?

I thought about that too, but my initial measurement takes into account clearing the skirting board and flat against the wall, unfortunately.  I was even thinking possibly buying another shelf and cutting the top and bottom by 1 full section and connecting it to the existing one.

I've been shopping around for shelving the past few weeks, and I was eyeing the exact same shelf you are showing on the left.  The funny thing is that you are the second person I've seen in the past week with that shelf.  I've been wanting to build my own, but the free time is just not there, and that won't be changing for a while.  Buying shelves is probably my best bet.  The one on the left has been my favorite so far because it holds a lot of media with minimal design and the shelves are very short which should help prevent bowing over time.  Also, since there is no decorative trim around the front, they should be able to line up side by side if i get multiples (I need at least 3 for now, probably 4).

How do you like it so far?  How is the build quality?  Where did you get yours?  The cheapest I've found is $105 at Wal-Mart.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I like it quite a bit so far.  It came with a BUNCH of shelves to account for if you use the shelf for cd's vs dvd's, so you will have spare shelves, which I think is awesome.  I bought mine off Ebay for 150.00, and there's a bunch of them on there around that price.  Build quality is mid to high particle board.  I also anchored mine on the top to the wall, so it feels very solid.  Like you, my original plan was to build some shelves, but I just don't have the time.  I wish I had just a little more room against the wall to put a 2nd one, but the game shelves might get moved upstairs if my wife decides to put her art easel out in the sunroom.  That would give me PLENTY of room to put 3 shelves side by side.  Also, if you look at the foot board, it comes out further on the bottom which gives it more structural rigidity.

Yeah, I saw that in the pictures online.  What they don't show very well is that the CDs and DVDs stick out past the shelves a little bit.  It's only on the adjustable shelves and not on the outer or fixed shelves, but I'm still not that crazy about it.  But so far, it's the closest thing to what I would build on my own.  And if I'm can get them for $105 each, it wouldn't cost much more than what I would spend on my own.

I love my 32x games!  I bought the system day1, and always thought it could have succeeded if the cartridge port on the back of the Saturn was a 32x port.  That way, it would have had seudo backwards compatibility.
