I'm curious to try it, but may not if they never release a physical copy. --- End quote --- I am not sure if this is real or not? Shovel Knight has been out for a while now. Yes it is an amazing game go buy it. Was in my top 3 games release that year. --- End quote --- It is real. And I'm same way. I don't trust digital only games. They can be taken offline, unplayable and unavailable when maker wants it. Example all the Guitar Hero and Rock Band DLCs. If there is only digital available I will go pirate way. Then when game becomes unplayable I have not lost money. |

GOG gives you the EXE without any client attached, making it so if you have the files, it will play. Just back it up on another drive. And with Rockband and GH DLC, I'm almost certain any DLC that has been taken off the store can be redownloaded if needed, (Like the Metallica packs) And the files for them are stored on your HDD, so you have them no matter what. If yo downloaded it and it is on your HDD, it can be used. The only way a downloaded game can be made useless is if it is tied to a client that goes down (Like Origin) or the game requires a server check in (SimCity, or any online game) Most games are cracked to remove it. I think Steam games installed on your PC can be played without the client, or on a offline mode. Download games are not that unreliable. |

Heck, even all the old Dreamcast DLC is still available through Dream Explorer. |

I've 'bought' (it's really more like a rental) digital in the past and been burned more than once after losing the game/content so now I avoid it. |

Who have you bought from? I've never had any problem from Steam or Nintendo's digital services. |
