So I have a really old beat-up DMG that I'd love to use more often but the problem that pretty much everyone has with it is the lack of lighting. I'm sure this has been asked before but how does everyone here get better visibility on their gameboys without installing backlight/frontlight mods? I heard there was a light adapter or something but I don't know what to look for.

Other solution I heard about was just import a GameBoy Light from Japan but they run for a pretty penny compared to just regular DMG prices.

Backlighting is really the way to go. Anything else is really just going to be strapping a lamp to the unit (like the awful work light).

Do you have any good sites that explain how to do a light job for beginners?

Before I go and get a backlighting kit, does the DMG do frontlight mods too? I know the GBC does. Mainly asking because I have an extra SP lying around that I could probably gut for the light.

There's no reason that you can't, it's just mondo inferior to backlighting, especially with the crummy DMG LCD :/

Dunno if they explain it, but I'd start at Kitsch-bent.com
