What does everyone do/use to cut out their covers? Because I still haven't found something I like. Currently I just use regular scissors to cut the short sides and then one of those Straight paper cutter things for the long sides but I wish there was an easier way to see the line I would cut because too many times I feel like I'm a little skewed.

This is what I use.  It's extremely easy to line up the cutting blade with the edge of the cover to get a perfect cut.  The blades can be easily replaced.  There is also a strip underneath the cutting blade that can be replaced over time.  This strip helps with guiding the blade and providing a clean cut completely through the paper.  They sell a scoring blade for this cutter, but I haven't used it.  I purchased mine at Michaels.  I don't remember the price, but it was reasonable and it's pretty easy to get 20 to 40% off coupons there.  They also sell the replacement parts.

The best advice I can give is this.  If the cutting blade doesn't line up perfectly flush with the straight edge, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.  Many paper cutters are setup this way making it extremely difficult to get a perfect cut along the edge of your cover.

I just use a cutting board, metal ruler & Xacto knife. It takes more focus to keep it straight but I hardly mess up anymore. Cheap and efficient.

You could get a lazer guide cutter

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-X-ACTO-Laser-Paper-Trimmer-12-EPI26234-/321444643983?

This ... actually looks amazing. Wow.

If you get this let me know how well it works, I am still cutting the old fashion way(without lazers),on a cheap walmart purchased cutting board.

Everything is better with lasers! I just use and Xacto knife and ruler.

Cutting board, metal ruler/straight edge, X-acto.  Change the blades every 10 covers or so and you're good.  These are the exact ones that I use.

Got the suggestion from reading these posts and it is cheap and better than any method i've tried.  Of couse i've only tried a guillotine cutter and had office depot cut it for me with their laser cutter.

There is nothing wrong with using a knife, straight edge, and cutting board, but I've found using the paper cutter I listed above to be much faster without sacrificing precision.  For me that's important because I've done as many as 40 covers in one night.  I won't always be doing that many, but right now I have a lot of covers to print out. ;)

I have to ask about this as well. I use Fiskars but it looks a little different than the one above. I'm wondering if there is something better because I feel like it doesn't cut it fully cleanly.

Blade, straight edge, mat like many others. You'll get the best cuts that way (if you're careful and take your time)

Obviously I can't comment on your model, but the one I have pictured gives me perfectly clean cuts all of the time.  I can go through an entire box of paper (50 sheets) without changing the blade (usually more).  If your blade isn't giving clean cuts, see about replacing it with a clean blade.  Also, the cutting board underneath the blade is usually replaceable (the one I have pictured works this way).  If that is old, replace it as well.  It's just as important as a clean blade for good cuts.

Cutting board, Xacto knife, and a ruler. Best way I've found.
I used to use and actual paper cutter and it would always fuck it up somehow.
