Majora's Mask New 3DS XL- who else got one?

So apparently you DO NOT want to start playing MM on a 3ds and then play it on a NEW 3ds, or vice versa...causes a game breaking glitch and you need to delete your save and  restart.  Or at least thats the theory.  Its happened to a few people online including me.  Game just crashes when you attack.

Hopefully they'll patch that up quickly

Kinda kicking myself for not getting that Ganondorf. I saw some in the store, I got the Wii U system instead, and did not want the game twice.

Had all the pre-orders i had (Amazon, B&N, DH and one other place that I figured wouldn't but had to take a chance on) on that one end up cancelled

Ouch.

I missed out on all the major online pre-orders.  When I heard about the amount set aside for the independent comic shops, I called my closest one (which also doubles as my closest board/card gaming store) and asked them if they could hook me up.  Had to pay full retail ($80), but I got it.

Well I see a patch/update for Majora's Mask. Do we know if it fixes this bug?

Ive only seen it reported here so far.... but Id love to know Im safe to upgrade to new 3ds

Yeah, for a while I was afraid it was just me.  Luckily, here is one of the forums I searched when trying to find what happened, so it's nice to know I wasn't alone:

Anyway, since restarting I have played exclusively on my NEW 3ds XL and am pretty far in the game and no problems (so it is likely not the cart itself).  I also haven't seen anything posted on this in a few weeks, so hopefully it is all fixed.  If i finish the game soon I will test it out.

An like I said, I have no idea if that was the actual cause, but it is the only thing I can think of since I had barely played the game more than a few hours.

i have a power save 3ds thing just in case and i backed up my save and tried it on my New 3ds LL and had zero issues back and forth and yes its the US copy of the game and did not use the new patch
