Hmm well on one hand, glad to know it's not just my copy, on the other stinks that it's not just my copy.
I just got back from picking up my MM N3DSXL (pre-ordered from BB, had it shipped to my parents house (10 minutes from mine) because my Dad works out the house now, so he's always there) but I've got another question now, for anyone else who got it, is there anytype of seal on it? Opened it up from the BB package (a stupid barely padded envelope) and there isn't a seal on either end of the box.
I may be misremembering but I swore the ALBW 3DSXL and the Zelda 25th Anniversary/OoT editions version was sealed.
Megatron:
I don't think A Link Between Worlds was sealed...I don't have my box in front of me, but I remember thinking it was odd. OoT was definitely sealed.
I also got a red version and a Monster Hunter New 3ds xl and none of them have seals so...Nintendo gettin' cheap. Personally I'm ok with it, as it doesn't wreck the box.

I don't understand. Nintendo gets no benefit from not meeting demand. They make no additional money from scalped resales. </rant>
I did manage to get just the game though. Almost done with it. Some changes are great, others are wtf worthy. I feel the bosses have been dumbed down and challenges made easier. The song of double time has been improved to be amazing.
I like most zelda titles. only two I didn't care for were zelda 2 and twilight princess.

Limiting things creates demand. Then the next time some "rare" Uhmeebos come out or whatever they shovel on to us in "limited" quantities, people are chomping at the bit for it. Oldest marketing trick in the book. As long as they can keep on rolling out "limited" items, then the cash flow will continue to be FAR from limited.
It's not like they're an orange stand that's sold out of oranges. They've always got something else coming.

Yes, there are some people who bought a Marth because he was rare, at the same time I know a ton of people who wanted the Skull Kid figure, or Little Mac and Villager Amiibos regardless of them being rare or limited. They got the hype going, but nothing to fill it other than scalpers. They would make FAR more money making more because they would sell more. Hype for Amiibos is not helping DK, Peach and Yoshi, who many stores are now putting on clearance. People want many of the characters because they want the character, hype may contribute but it only does so much when there are no more to sell.

While I'll agree in the case of Amiibos the scarcity of certain ones has led to an entire craze -- but in the case of the Majora's Mask stuff (be in the LE game or the N3DSXL) the entire thing was handled extremely poorly in the US. It's Zelda, the hype was already there. Couple that the fact that because of the Amiibo situation, people are gobbling anything with some value with the Big N's name on it. NoA vastly underestimated demand for MM, they could have easily added additional units to their production run and still had "limited" quantities and still had sell outs.
Instead, they had sell outs of everything within minutes of going up for sale, which resellers loved, but has left a bad taste in tons of people who may not return as customers.
