They're really intended for speed over perfect image reproduction (which is what inkjet is better suited for).

My printer is horrible, so right now the laser is the best option for me. What type of paper should I use for laser?

Use paper made for laser printers ;)
I think laser paper quality is less of a deal than it is for ink jet.

Toner won't get absorbed by paper like ink can with cheap paper. The only issue I had with my laser printer was that it sometimes wasn't warmed up properly, or the initial cartridges weren't working fine. Since I replaced them and store my printer in a room with low humidity level, I always had great first print.
