Can your colors on a laser be too deep?

Einhander:

Finally got to print with laser, my friend has a laser printer. The covers looks much better than regular print. But for some covers, Donkey Kong in particular, the colors seem to be slight too sharp to where it looks slightly unnatural. Will getting glossy legal paper change that?

shenske:

That is possible but which cover was it in particular. Perhaps the cover is just too high of contrast.

If it is my vertical cover  http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=7505  redownload it. I just updated the image (i actually made the improvement years ago but never uploaded it)

wiggy:

Laser printers don't have the best color reproduction, especially non-commercial units.  It's just not what they're designed for. They're really intended for speed over perfect image reproduction (which is what inkjet is better suited for).

My printer is horrible, so right now the laser is the best option for me. What type of paper should I use for laser?

wiggy:

Dunno.  Whatever higher quality laser paper you can find I guess.  Like most things, you get what you pay for with printer paper.
