So about a month ao I pre-ordered Ike, King Dedede, Sonic, and Megaman Amiibo on the Gamestop website. They took the money out of my account and everything went smoothly until I got this email.

"Dear Blue,
 
Unfortunately, your order for the Mega Man, Ike, King Dedede, and Sonic amiibo Figures has been delayed. Your item will be placed on back order while we work with Nintendo to get more stock of this item. Your business is extremely important to us, and we sincerely apologize for any frustration this delay may have caused you."

They still have my money, but we all know how Nintendo is with restocking these things. What should I do? I need advice. Thank you.

I actually had the same thing happen on my pre-order of Sonic and Mega Man!

I called GameStop customer support, and turns out GameStop was expecting to have the amiibo's on-hand by now, or something like that, but there was a delay in their shipment. They said they're still getting the same, expected amount, just late.

So, basically, if you were getting them shipped to your house (like I was), that e-mail is just a cryptic way of saying "please wait a little while longer".

Looks to me like the company ordered "X" from Nintendo but Nintendo Supplied them with "Y." Unfortunately X is a bigger number Y. My advice is to hang tight and leave your order. If it is a supplying issue they will have a much better putting pressure on Nintendo to send some more than a random customer.

Just in case still look out for some, you can always cancel later if you find nothing

Also worth noting that many companies are still dealing with the Port strike issue from last Fall (and I though I read there was talk about another one soon).
Could simply be that Gamestop hasn't received all of their order yet as it's still held up in ports.

Just goes to show that not even preorders aren't safe.

Being closed probably just means that they're being shipped to the store.  My gamestop preorder was closed a while back but the manager told me the other day that he would be calling the people who preordered personally.

I have a feeling that experiences are going to vary widely from store to store. I have little confidence that I'll ever get a call.
