Can It Damage a Disk?
(1/3) > >>
SegaNomadman:
I've seen sellers that use an ultra violet light pen to mark their used games inventory, I'm always worried to buy from them though because I'm afraid the pen could, over time, damage the disk. I was wondering, does this cause any damage or am I just being paranoid?
ZX the Hedgehog:
UV will damage discs if you shine it on the back for long enough (and I mean quite a while),but writing on a case and shining a UV light on it every once and a while won't hurt it. Personally, I wouldn't worry, but, if you feel you may be hurting your games, just don't do it.
SegaNomadman:
That's what I figured. Thanks!  ;D (BTW I don't do this to my games I was thinking on buying from someone who did this.)
wiggy:
I know normal inks can eat away at the lacquer top coat on optical discs over time (and I've actually seen it happen).  Who knows with UV reactive inks. Test of time is what it would take to find out...
SegaNomadman:
Ya. I just decided not to risk it and bought from someone else. Thanks for the help though guys!  :)
