This is a stupid  question, but when converting file formats in gimp.  Sometimes it asks you the compression level
you wish to save the file.  It has a slider from 0 to 9. Does 0 mean no compression (max quality) or does the 9 mean the max image quality.   I think I am over thinking it.  I wish it just had a box saying no compression.

zero value equals least/fastest amount of compression. nine value is equivalent to greatest/slowest amount of compression.
0-9 inclusive - logically i cannot say if 9 = 90% or 100%. interesting. anyway, choose 0 for best quality or 1 for slight file compression/smaller file size.
