Price stickers on games

As a collector I totally don't agree with stickers either (never have), but from a business stand point it makes sense. However, we do not put stickers on the spines or manuals anymore. (I remember manuals being a big issue years ago with a few PS2 games in my collection that still have stickers on the manual) Now it's just the front and back stickers, and one to seal it up.
One thing I can say though, (at least for my store) is the stickers we use now vs. the ones used years ago is that they can all be easily removed with very little effort and patients with absolutely no residue left over. Still wish I didn't have to do it when I buy something used or get the last new copy, but at least it's no longer an issue. The old tags and seal stickers were damn near impossible to remove without tearing and residue. That's no longer the case.

I must say this is definitely true! The old stickers sucked big time. The new ones are much easier to take off.
Since you work there, why a sticker on the front, back, and spine? Isn't one enough? Just curious as it seems like a waste of resources and workers' time.

This annoys the hell out of me.
My local game store, Oogie Games, almost always sticks the sticker on Atari games right on the label. I've ripped a few, but since they literally sell almost every Atari game for $1, it doesn't matter that much. One thing that is annoying, however, is that they stick stickers on the outside plastic sleeve of DVD cases. You might as well give up trying to get off their trade-in sticker (why are those things always so hard to get off? What do they do, superglue it?) Happily, the prices are fair, but their prices have to do with demand often over stock(enough that, i.e. Mario\Duck Hunt is more expensive than, say, Deja Vu, but Uninvited is still more expensive than both the former).

A retro shop around me puts their stickers on the artwork under the sleeve. I have asked them several times not to do this with no results. Sucks because they get some great trades, but to many ripped covers I don't even bother anymore.

Our local chain (the Exchange) finally switched over to MUCH less sticky price labels this past year. They peel off with virtually zero effort or mess. They also finally stopped putting the stickers on the SNES cart labels (most of the stores at least). As much as it's really satisfying to employ all the tricks I know in order to remove stickers and goo, it's definitely nice to be able to just peel the label off and put the game on my held with zero effort.
