Hey all -- I've been going through recently and printing out new covers for my games using higher quality paper. The prints looks fantastic; however, when I put them into the cases, I notice that the spines of the covers are sticking to the outer plastic, causing a spotted, wet look to it. Needless to say, this is bothering the hell out of me. My question, has anyone else experienced this, or know a trick to fix it? It's not that I don't give the covers time to dry, the recommended amount of time is 7 days, and in some cases I've let them dry for 14 before inserting them, but I still get the spots. Some of them come out looking fine, but several are having this issue. Any recommendations? Here's the specs on the paper I'm using:

DVD Covers - HP Premium Photo Paper -- Glossy -- 10mil, 240g/m2, 64lb
GBA Covers - HP Premium Plus Photo Paper -- High Gloss -- 11.5mil. 280g/m2, 75lb

This might be a stupid question, but does that come in legal size or are you printing that on regular sized sheets?

I couldn't find a way to print on letter sized since I couldn't find a way to bypass the 0.12 inches minimum setting for the border.  That resulted in a cutoff image.

I ended up getting Red River legal sized paper for my Canon i960 and haven't had any issues.  Haven't had any issues, wish I could help further.

The DVD cover paper is just 8 1/2 x 11...the paper I use for the GBA covers is 11 x 17, so I actually have to trim it down to get it to fit in the printer. Like I said, the covers look beautiful on this paper (I used to use Kodak paper, and the black was more like a dark gray), I just need to figure out what to do about the sticking.

Bump -- anyone have any ideas?

I'm afraid I might have to try a different type of paper, which is a shame because these look fantastic. Can anyone throw out some paper recommendations, hopefully with a link to what you use?

For DS and normal sized DVD cases I use "Advanced HP Photo Paper", it's 8.5x11, Glossy 66lb paper. Results have been great (until I ran out of red ink in my color ink cartridge)

Yep, that's the stuff

Well, I gave it a shot, but unfortunately the black isn't coming out as dark on this paper. Anyone else have any thoughts on the sticking issue?  :(

Well, in case anyone's interested or has this issue in the future, I've found a resolution:

Apparently it has to do with ink solvents that haven't completely cured on a 'barrier paper' (glossy). The solution: an acrylic coating over the insert. I use a spray from Krylon called Crystal Clear, but there's another one that's specially designed for printed images called Preserve It!. So, my problem is solved, so hopefully this helps someone else :)
