Hey guys!  I'm looking for some feedback for my first 'unofficial' attempt at a cover for the site.  Here's the original:

And here's my version:

The only thing I really don't like is that when I color filled the spine text, it filled the sub text as well, and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to clear that up.  Other than that, it's finished, unless you guys see something you recommend!

Love it man, for me there might be an over saturation of Sega logos. Just personally and its totally your design. Other than that I like it. exspecially the black level on the back.

You might consider incorporating what many original covers have done with red backgrounds; add a 1 or 2 pixel black border!

- Inverting the colors to white and grey with a black border may look half way decent.
- A white border may look good with the black text.
- Yellow, or even flame text, with a black border and black drop shadow (remove the grey) might lend itself well, too.

Play around, iterate, have fun, and something will feel right.

Here are a few original Genesis scans for reference: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=16138.0

When Sega rebranded the Genesis with the Red Spine, they no longer used their old logo. So, I would remove the old logo.
