Anybody tried to play the original NES Duck Hunt using a projector?
A co-worker was telling me that he just completed a new setup at home with a projector and was playing duck hunt without any issue.

I was under the impression that it would only work with old CRT tV because of many factors including timing. He is converting the signal to HDMI, so I thought this would de-sync the signal sampling, but seems like it still works.

The answer to this is that it CAN work on a Projector. However, the likelyhood is extremely rare. You can't just pick up any projector and play light gun games on it.

Nothing to do with a CRT and everything to do with how the signal is processed.  Used a really old rear-projection TV back with the DC came out to play House of the Dead 2 with a buddy. Worked perfectly :)

Just to precise, I am referring to a ceiling projector, not TV with rear projection (pre LCD stuff).

If Duck Hunt (actually all light gun games and maybe super scope) work fine with some ceiling projector, I'll strongly consider buying one (maybe a old used 4x3 a.r. one). it takes no space, nothing comparing to a 32 in. CRT :)
