The Gold Mario debacle really solidified for me that I won't be getting all of the amiibos. At the very least, I want to get the original 12 fighters from the N64 SSB (of which only Jigglypuff is not yet secured for me), then see if I can get the additions from Melee, Brawl, and if I'm lucky all the Smash Bros. amiibos.
Beyond that I'm still debating if I want to get the Mario series beyond characters not in Smash, like Toad. The others seem to be very easy to find and I suspect they'll phase out their Smash Bros. counterparts and will be around for a while. So if there's a sale at TRU or something I might grab them. I think I'll be skipping Splatoon, I might grab a blue Yarn Yoshi if it's not too impossible to get, and as much as I like other series, I'll probably have to avoid any potential Zelda, Metroid, or any other large series full of characters. As for the cards, my current stance is no way. They'd have to make something pretty cool and equally useful in a game to get me to jump down that rabbit hole.
