I made sure to get my Toad preorder in (as the dumb internet consensus was that he would be rare and thus not available in stores).  Then I go to target and they have like 10 toads.  Oh well; mine is in the mail...somewhere.  Come on Wave 4!

Got Mario Party 10 today with the Mario Amiibo.

Went to the store and bought Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi. Just need Toad and Bowser, which were both available for purchase on Gamestop.com so I went ahead and placed my order.

Only missing the gold variant of Mario

Got Toad in the mail and he looks great. I tried to get the Gold Mario at Walmart, but they completely failed - I was there at 11:45 Thursday night, and the guy working in electronics said they never got them in, and sent me to a nearby Walmart. That one sold all of theirs out at midnight and said that the first Walmart must have been lying because they got 8 in. So I don't know if they legitimately didn't get them, were too lazy to find them, or if they sold them earlier in the day.

Oh well, maybe I can get one someday if I don't mind forking over more money. As for the others, I'm really going to wait and see. I strongly suspect that all the Super Mario amiibo except Toad will be around for a LONG time. Considering that their Smash Bros counterparts are so easy to find, and Nintendo is going to want those main Mario characters around for a while, and I imagine the Smash Bros versions will be phased out. Besides, I'm still leaning towards drawing the line at getting the Smash Bros amiibo and any other unique ones that I like. I have no intention of being a completist on these things.

But something tells me there might be more for sale.. from Nintendo site : "Exclusively at Walmart at launch." So are they planning to sell those everywhere later ?

EDIT: For those that live outside the U.S., it was recently confirmed that Golden Mario will be sold as a non-exclusive Amiibo in Canada. Its release date in that region is April 10.
So I'll bet mine on April 10

I was able to pick up 2 gold Mario's at my local walmart. I was even told that they weren't getting any more.

Saw them, did a double take, then checked I wasn't wrong about rarity xD

I just ordered some of these...I have ordered from these guys before and I really like their products.  I don't know how the Amiibo will look in the boxes, but since I only have 6 or so, I think this will help display them, as I will actually be able to stack them now.

Larry,  sorry to inform you but I've came across rosalina and lucario so feel free to offer them to somebody else that may still need them if you wish.  Thanks for holding them but I just couldn't wait any longer.. But thank you anyways.

I am happy to say that my amiibo collection  is 100 percent caught up now. Pics coming as soon as I can get my display finished!!

Ok, sorry for making you wait so long, I just have been very busy lately. Every time I was like "Ok, thanks s week I'm sending them out" I get slapped with a pile of school work, I rarely ever get any days off from both school and work,

About $18 shipped on each.  Aside from shipping costs, luckily I have yet to pay over retail for any of them. I also collected all of wave 1 of the super Mario series. I'm not sure if I'm going to open those ones yet or not.  Pictures coming soon.
