I've managed to pick up everyone so far along the way in North American packaging minus Villager.  Looks like I will have to resort to Ebay to get him:(  Also have not been able to preorder any of the 4 exclusives yet and will probably have to test my luck at the stores when they do arrive.

Mine from Toys R Us got the same thing! Thankfully they were a backup in case Amazon never happened but low and behold my Pit from Amazon finally came today and my Captain Falcon came last week. Finally a break until Wave 3 for now....

They also sent me a survey e-mail about my recent purchase and I spoke my mind about the Amiibo situation in it. I thought they would have been smarter this time around and not overselling pre-sales with that special offer deal but I guess not

I have a Capt Falcon shipping in, and Pit is delayed on Wal Mart, I have no other Pits. Hopefully Wal Mart comes through.

I managed to find Pit, Falcon, and Fox locally over the last couple of days.

On new years eve I stopped in at Walmart for glass cleaner of all things and figured I'd check the amiibo section and they had one Pit and one Captain Falcon just sitting there so I snapped them up.

Today I was driving by Toys R Us and figured I'd take a quick look and low and behold there was a Fox sitting there all by his lonesome.  When I went to pay for it the lady at the cash said it had been sitting in a "hold bin" for 2 weeks and that she had just put it out on the shelf.

Moral of the story I guess is to keep checking

I've been at it for a little over three years now and I've already suffered through all of these horrors and more.

With that said, dang, I've had issues with getting amiibo.  Still waiting on my local TRU to get my Pit and Captain Falcon pre-orders in.

This is exactly why I left the "Skylanders Club" after Giants. There are simply too many things to buy. Hopefully Amiibos will be more "sane".

It's also strange about the Rarity of certain Amiibos in the US. Here in europe all are readily available. I was in some electronic stores today and they had Villager, Marth and Trainers all readily available. I found 15 Euros a bit much though.

Hey, it's so bad here, I'd gladly pay you extra to import Marth and Wii Fit Trainer.  

After Smash Bros, I plan to be a lot more selective about other Amiibo series. I don't need to have 7 different variants of Mario, and I certainly don't need more than a handful of Pokémon from Generation 1 I like. I'll mostly be looking for characters that won't have Smash Bros. trophies like Waluigi.

Does an EU Villager or Trainer even help? Are they compatible to US systems/games?

The Amiibo are region free, so it works on any system. It's only the packaging that saw alterations with each area.
