:o  That sucks, why does Nintendo not like money.

I have a spare bundle I'm probably going to sell off soon. I got it after accidentally ordering 2, and I'm just waiting to see if I'm going to need it before selling.

I'm glad I picked up all the ones I did, I have them all preorderd, minus Roseilina. Are they discontinued in japan?

The articles I've read seem to indicate Nintendo only made so many of certain ones.  And once they're gone, there is no intention to make more.  So I assume that is global.  Some, ie Mario, Link, Samus, etc, are going to stay in circulation.  But the more obscure characters are not produced long term...makes me think I should actually pre-order Meta Knight.

Try for Lucario in a store.
I'd say preorder all the ones you would want, just to be safe. I have the entire set preordered, minus Roseillina.

Main characters like Mario, Luigi, Pikachu, Zelda, Link, Samus, ect. Will be the most common, side characters like Villager, Fire Emblem, probably Captain Falcon, Pit, Sonic, ect are probably going to be the ones short stocked and discontinued when the next wave comes out.

I can see why, I doubt retail stores can keep 50 different ones of these things in stock at the end.

They aren't on BB.com either, otherwise I'd get you taken care of.  If you can find somewhere else in the US that will let me pre-order, then shoot me a FB message and I'll get em for ya ;)

I have every Amiibo accept Villager right now. Picked them all up on launch but my EB Games only got 8 villagers which were all gone before I could grab one. Figured we'd be getting more but that doesn't seem to be the case since we haven't received any more Amiibo's since the initial shipment. If anyone happens to see one, I'd be more than happy to cover cost and shipping.

I've had an internal struggle with amiibo since they launched. I have decided that I'm only going to buy amiibos that either a) really appeal to me, or b) are a very good value. By value I mean they will be compatible with several games. If I'm lucky, those two reasons will sometimes overlap.

In all honesty, the only amiibo that I was really interested in from Series 1 was Wii Fit Trainer. Sadly, I just couldn't look past the horrible clear cast they added to her leg to better attach her to the base. I went back and forth on it for days, knowing full well that the stock on Amazon would eventually run out. She's no longer available, but I'm not too torn up about it.

I am, however, looking forward to several upcoming amiibos, and have pre-ordered all that I can (the two retailer exclusive amiibos I want are not yet up for pre-order in Canada). I am definitely picking up Little Mac, Mega Man, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Shulk.

I've gone back and forth on Shulk as he is also a victim of an ugly (albeit clear) base support, but I love Xenoblade Chonicles, and I assume I will never see another Shulk action figure. I also must say, the packaging for some of these figures looks fantastic. You can see them all on Nintendo's amiibo website.

I keep hearing conflicting reports about the future of these limited amiibos. I guess the latest is that they are likely discontinued. BadChad, I am also in Canada, so I will keep an eye out for a Villager for you.

What amiibos is everyone else looking forward to?

Here's a suggestion: Now that larryinc64 has been successful in finding his Marth amiibo, perhaps we should rename this topic and make it the official amiibo thread? Unless there is already one which I am unaware of...

Feeling old!  ???

Edit:
Ok.  Just read up on it.   What I don't understand is, why, if these seem so far removed from anything I collect gaming wise, and such a gimmick, do I now want to have them?  I can't see myself actually using them.  I don't even like smash bros!

I know, right?! They aren't very functional (at least not yet), but they are oddly compelling. It'll likely make Nintendo a truckload of money, too. I wonder how long it'll be until we see Sony or Microsoft jump on the NFC figurine bandwagon...
