Any Saturn fans feel it's the most underrated system ever?

I was always one of those people who just assumed that Saturn and Dreamcast were failures, end of story. I really didn't know much about the Saturn. But I got one recently and am HOOKED. They really did master the 2d graphics. If you're into arcade style games, Saturn is unbelievable, especially if you have the Action Replay for imports. Games like Nights, Panzer Dragoon, Astal, Mr Bones, Silvergun Radiant, Cotton Boomerang, and Vitual On make this quite a unique system! Playstation was always my favorite as a kid and I'll always love it, but perhaps if I had followed the Saturn, it would have been the other way around! I just didn't know anyone who had one except for one of my friends, but we only played it once.

I'm just so glad I didn't buy into the conceptions. It may have failed, but at the end of the day it mastered the games it put out. Maybe GameCube was more known than the Saturn, but man oh man does this system seem to amaze me everyday. I knew there was something about this console! It's not nostalgia, it's more like dejavu? I didn't grow up with it, but since I grew up in the same period, it feels like the childhood I could have had. I used to laugh at this system and now it's becoming one of my favorites, if not my most favorite. As a huge Shmup fan (Einhander) the Saturn is basically heaven!

Honestly, it really is an underrated system. I got one for Christmas last year and love it! I just wish that some of the US games were less expensive.  ;D

I'm a big Saturn fan, and I do feel that it's underrated.  I enjoy fighting games, and games like Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, and Fighters Megamix are truly top notch.  Plus the 2D shooters are great.  Unfortunately, whether it's due to system architecture or difficulty in programming (probably a bit of both), very few developers were able to get the most of Saturn's power, and therefore Playstation and N64 games simply looked a lot better at the time.

Saturn gets respect now, but back in 1995-1997 people wanted cutting edge polygon based games, and Playstation simply did it better.  2D shooters and arcade style games, the genres that Saturn was best at, weren't very popular back then.

the problem was Sega made too many add on's just before this system came out. The threw the 32x and the CD at us then said "OH here is a new system that is better" i love the saturn but all the better games are in japan. but we do have a few good ones

Yea Japan is what makes the whole experience, but if you are able to play the imports, it's fantastic
