gamecube component question

kingjohn3:

Does anyone know if the gc component cables are worth the money or would the new rgb mod with component out be a better way to go? Thanks

wiggy:

Unless you want to do a ton of work (and still spend a fair amount of money), just suck it up and buy the component cable.  It's the best you're gonna get out of an NTSC 'Cube (based on what I've seen it's better than the RGB mod coupled with all the other crap needed to make it work on a US TV).

do you know where I can find screenshots of that mod? I've looked everywhere so maybe I've used the wrong phrase or keywords. I passed on a cable this morning for $180 bin. Anyone willing to trade theirs for a Mario RPG, Secret of Mana and Lufia 1?   ;D

I almost got one for $5
My gamestop called a bunch of stores looking for one for me, but was sent av cables by stores that said it was in stock, they finally got one and appear entry it was destroys, the cable run over or something and they tossed it out before telling me. It sounds like it was repairable, resodderd generic av cables to the plug, or something. Oh well, I use a Wii with $5 cables.
It's a shame the Game Boy Player won't work on a Wii.

From what I hear, the best way to get one is to find a co-worker who is kind enough to give his for free.  Other than that, you just have to suck it up and pay $Texas for it.
