A Shift away from Modern games and Online Multiplayer

Arseen:
Out of last 2 generations of games I've enjoy most, probably in this order:

- Lego City Undercover. I so want sequel!!! Yes I have the 3DS version which too is quite good.
- Hyrule Warriors. Have been playing it daily (or nightly actually) for week now alone or with my nephew. Wish it had LAN 4 player mode, I so would buy 2 more WiiUs and 3 more copies of the game.
- Rest of the Lego games on Xbox 360,

And some driving games.
TDIRunner:
I don't own any current gen stuff unless the OUYA counts.  However, what drives me crazy with this generation is the ads.  Every ad is the same thing.  Just a group of "gamers" walking around shooting stuff.  There is no originality.  But I guess that's to be expected as there isn't much originality in the games either.

Some prime examples.

Demon's Souls / Dark Souls Series - Gameplay at it's finest

Mario Kart 8 - Woohooo!

Catherine - a unique and frustrating experience

I highly disagree. Demon/dark souls and anything mario are just extremely overhyped.
The best game that I really enjoyed the most out of the whole xbox 360 library was Dragons Dogma.

Catherine on the other hand was a very different experience that I did get some enjoyment out of.

I know it's all a matter of opinion though.

We didn't care about graphics, or what IGN said, or Gamers gate, or videogame corporations drama, nickle and dime DLC tactics etc. We played with our friends sitting next to us. We played coop together or watched them play single player and have good times laughing. But we all grew up and moved away from each other. And now most of us have to deal with assholes and strangers in online games. I'm done with this generation(s), going back to retro.

I love retro too. Do you have a PS4? I have a PS4, just haven't been too sure what to get for it. Sometimes I feel this generation isn't for me either, but then again, sometimes it has to be refreshing to play a good game in good graphics. I don't think all games are bad, just have to pick the ones we like.
