I played the gamecube version of Twilight Princess and liked that one better than the Wii.  Windwaker I didn't really get into much and I never played Skyward Sword.

If you don't like Majora's Mask, or the 3D Zelda titles in general, then this game probably isn't going to win you over.  This doesn't take the place of an actual new Zelda title, but for those of us who enjoy the game it is a great filler until the next installment comes out.

As for top down vs 3d styles of play, that is pretty subjective.  I am a Zelda fanatic, and I strongly prefer the 3D style over the top down (mostly because I prefer Zelda II over the original).  That isn't to say that I don't like top down - LttP and Link Between Worlds are two of my favorite games ever.  And to be honest, I kind of like how the hand held versions are mostly top down, while the console versions are 3D.  Nice mixing and varying.  Ocarina and MM are remakes of console versions, hence the 3D style on handhelds and an exception to the rule.

But I think the big reason for this remake is:  Nintendo remade Ocarina for the 3DS...why not Majora as well?  Took them a few years, but they listened.
...now if only Sony and Square-Enix would listen regarding FF VII....

So Nintendo UK has confirmed a special edition 3DS bundle with this.  Not sure if it is the "new" 3DS or just a regular one, and will come with the download of the game.

Or more, specifically for us Zelda fanatics - one more piece of hardware we don't need that we have to buy because we NEED IT!

I'm not excited for this at all. To me, the 2 Zelda's on the 64 were the worst and made me lose all interest in them.
At least the handheld Zelda games stuck closer to the roots of what I loved about the games.

I'm with this guy. While I really do love OoT, MM is pretty low on my Zelda love list. Like really low.  When are we gonna get some super sweet Zelda 1 update?  Are they just too damned afraid to touch that game? ???

I feel the same way about a Z1 remake.  They have experimented with it a few times - originally the Oracle games were going to be a remake, then Minish Cap started off as a remake, but then they just released it on GBA as a port instead.  So I don't know what it is.

Would it be possible to hack BS Z (you know the one we call quests 1 and 2 or actually quests 3 and 4) to make the the game?

Isn't that basicle the game but improved graphiocs and changed layout?

No need to even other with that really. Someone could just do a ROM hack of Link to the Past if improved graphics are really all that's desired.

I was thinking that too, but... raft not exsist... flute not quite...latter no go there too... Master key needs tweaking as well... arrows use rupies... Magic wand, book, candles.. ETC.
And I've heard that ALLTP is bitch to hack, let alone tweak.

The game I mentioned has those already.

Yeah, but the visual upgrade in BS Zelda is weak at best.  I know it doesn't get me excited at all :/

After recently re-playing through OOT on the 3DS, the biggest issue I have with the 3D Zelda games (and the N64 ones in particular) is the amount of pointless waiting that's required. The vast distances that you have to traverse (often on foot) and having to wait during combat for enemies to present an opening to land a proper attack seem to artificially extend the games' length. I want to say that this problem is less relevant in MM because the warp statues are far more prevalent, but I can't quite recall. I really enjoyed last year's ALBW because everything moved at such a brisk pace.
