Atari Games dug up from desert on ebay

I wonder what grade VGA would give one of those.
I bet most buyers are getting them as an " investment" to resell later. Don't see the market that big, seing how there is very little interest for anything pre NES from younger collectors.

I bid on one for fun. I have been outbid (thank the gods). I would be tempted to get one just to see if the cart would work.
Also just loved the story of the buried atari games. However, for those prices I will pass. It's funny to me because they were thrown out because there was too many of them. So, we know there is a huge supply and a meh demand... The prices don't make sense. I would feel like a nutcase paying more money for something because it was junked. Imagine explaining to people why you have a crushed box/melted cart and how much you paid for it. "But it's worth more because it was buried in a desert!"
Whole things ridiculous.

its all speculation. Who knows what will happen. I really can't see them being worth that much.
I can take my copy, bury it in the yard for a few months, make some letterhead and BAM...collectors item

The story is interesting but not $500+ interesting.

Ya those prices are way to high. I would rather pay $2-3 for an Atari game with no background than spend $50-200 on a game that was buried most of it's life.
