I bid on one for fun. I have been outbid (thank the gods). I would be tempted to get one just to see if the cart would work.
Also just loved the story of the buried atari games. However, for those prices I will pass. It's funny to me because they were thrown out because there was too many of them. So, we know there is a huge supply and a meh demand... The prices don't make sense. I would feel like a nutcase paying more money for something because it was junked. Imagine explaining to people why you have a crushed box/melted cart and how much you paid for it. "But it's worth more because it was buried in a desert!"
