I'd like to know how to make my own repros as well.

Yeah, 30 mins is nothing if you're just gonna make em for yourself. It's very satisfying too :)

If you're just planning on making a handful for yourself, then the cheap, old fashioned way is prolly the best. They'll take longer to build, but we're not talking 40 hours per game versus 10 seconds. More like 20-30 minutes per game versus a couple of minutes for the fastest, most expensive method.

That's just writing the chip right?  I take it your method still de solders and resolders, or are you using custom boards?

For about 95% of NES and SNES games it's a lot like plugging in a USB drive and copying the file.  The only games which would require donors and soldering are things like MMC5 NES carts (which we don't bother with), and special chip SNES games like Star Fox 2 or the Yoshi's Island hacks.  Those are typically a pain in the arse, but we actually have a pretty awesome shortcut/tool for them as well :)

Sweet, can't wait to learn a new skill!

TDIRunner:

What do you think the initial investment would be if you were looking for a slower method that covered 90% of the games one would want (in other words, skipping the games with extra chips)?

KMSoulja:

I'm interested as well.
