I'm interested in this because RGB is not feasible for my setup.  However, all of my switch boxes support component, and therefore, upgrading some of my consoles to component would be a very simple plug and play task.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Woulda been nice if this came out before I decided on a scart set up. Still tempted to back it... :-X

Might want to read the fine print. The TV you use with those cables must accept 240P signal, otherwise you'll still need some sort of converter box to get a decent picture on the screen, or even an image at all, putting you back in the same boat as before where buying a scart cable and converter would be pretty much the same thing and is already available.

Of course it you're using a CRT with component inputs, this would be a good idea for something plug-and-play.

I'd definitely buy these if I heard some good words about them from real gamers. I'd get two SNES ones in hopes of a good picture for my N64.

It's unlikely to work with the N64 without internal mod, as per their site.

I backed this for all three cables. I think everyone should consider donating some level of money as they are going to do cables for other systems as well as a possible upscaler if these cables prove to have enough demand. Think how nice it would be to have an affordable option for GameCube component cables or an affordable upscaler. And the upscaler would solve any issues people are having with TVs that have issues with 240p.

Nope, it won't work. The N64 doesn't output RGB. However, as long as you have one of the earlier models, it's an easy mod. Also, the cable should work on an SNES mini, NES, or AV Famicom with an RGB mod.

Ok. Did that and everything works. PS1 doesn't look all that great but PS2 looks awesome. I'm getting a modded SNES that does RGB and straight component so if I plug n play component it should look as good on the hdtv as it would on a Trinitron?

That info really isn't very easy to find.

I'd like to be excited about this product, but most everyone will still need a scaler of some sort, which just defeats the point IMO. I know they plan to offer an "affordable" scaler, but it doesn't exist yet, so I'm not gonna bank on it.  Honestly just an "affordable" scaler/converter would be a better product. Getting RGB out of many of these consoles isn't tricky at all, which is better than component anyway.

Probably not. But you honestly won't know until you try.  This sort of thing is a total guessing game in terms of what sort of quality to expect.

Thanks for the info.  I think the Trinitron is the way to go but for convenience I really wish the plasma would work but like you said we'll see. I just figured that with a component signal that the SNES would look as good as other systems with the same.

It'll look similar to your PS1, your TV is most likely treating the 240p signal as 480i. Most dont even get a picture with 240p over component.
