I have a cover for a game not currently in the database. What to do?

They seem to be clean up jobs of the low-res ones on the site (good job on the clean up btw). We rather have them cleaned from high-res scans. Try your hand at the raw scans section ;).
Goodwill_Gamer you also need to lay your scan flat, try flattening with a big book/magazine/etc.

Yeah, many do have moire which I've had to correct for my prints and dust specks. I can perfect the covers (to the best I can muster from the scan) from those I'm using in my collection as I go along, and if there are major edits (not just a few speck clean-ups that anybody can quickly do) submit them. I'm not sure who approves of them, though.
I did try my hand. There aren't any for the games I submitted in the section or the forum. The raws often have the same dirt/scratches/etc anyway so I'm not sure the retail result would be much better since they're down-sized to the correct resolution on the site. Anyway, I'm a happy chappy...
That doesn't do it justice, but it looks like a retail copy. There aren't any relevant raws for what I uploaded and mine improve the quality a lot, so it wouldn't make sense not to approve the new versions. Could you elaborate on this?
Mantis:
So, I'm expected to keep even major edits to myself even when there aren't any raws available because of some trivial rules that are in place. The fact of the matter is that a lot of covers here are sub-par quality, no matter what you say. Could I make something better from the raws? If they exist, yes, but in the cases so far they don't. So, your logic is to keep the covers that look like scratched up cardboard instead of my changes that look suitable for putting into a plastic case.
I don't mean to sound rude. I just don't see the logic in this. So, it's not a matter of me not wanting to contribute. It's a matter of me not being allowed to contribute, for the reasons listed above. I'll probably create a thread with my edits if that's the best I can do, which doesn't help non-forum-users who just browse the site from the links at the left.
larryinc64:
Covers from the archive to the left can be added and modified, but not removed. If we could, we would remove all the crap covers from the archive, but we cant.
We want to focus more on uploading covers that meet the new standards for the archive, then place holders.
Create a topic and upload your edits there, I have tons of covers that are no site worthy, so I just post them here. There is a master list of covers somewhere in the forum that list place holders.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and assume this website was developed by Snackbar Media who were hired to write the PHP code which the admins don't have the expertise to modify. Where there's a will there's a way, but I understand if there are limitations in place.
Thanks for the answer. I'll create a thread.

No, this site was created by snowcone, who is the site admin (and also owner at snack bar media I believe). Unfortunately he's not here very much. The rest of the admins don't have that level of access.
