SNES box question

kingjohn3:

Does anyone know why an original SMW with non- players choice box on ebay would sell for upwards of $150 cib. Why in the world are they so expensive? Also just how collectible do yall think cib NES, SNES, N64, etc actually is right now?

KalessinDB:

Because collecting is getting expensive overall, Nintendo collecting is insanely expensive right now, and cib is even more so.

Plus you gotta realize the majority of people who had SMW (non players choice) had it as a pack-in with their deck, so I doubt there's too many boxes left out there.

kingjohn3:

So if I find one I better grab it, huh? I wonder if the future market will be kind to CIB throw away games as they are to the classics? IN other words I wonder if Lock On will ever fetch more than $5 cib

larryinc64:

I think it is that most copies were sold in bundles without the box. I saw on for $40 a while back, still kinda kicking myself for not getting it.

kingjohn3:

I cant decide what to do with my boxes, keep or sell. Keeping my favorites but the rest I don't know. I don't want to get rid of one and find out later its a hidden gem. For example I found out that Joe and Mac 2 might be one that I want to hang on to but Barbie Super Model not so much. See what I mean? There are throw aways and there are obvious keepers. Any suggestions?
