I have two questions for now, as some of you know a brother in law game me a super scope (pic on October pickups), he didn't have the receiver but I have found it on ebay, and also was missing the sight but I haven't found that.

Question time  ;D

1- Does any of you guys  have a non working super scope and is willing to sell the sight?

2- what's the maximum of players that can play in a game that uses super scope?  that way I will know if I have to buy more super scope, Or just stay with this one.  :P

Thanks for your help

Only need one, even if the game is 2P. There are none that require you to have two (for use in co-op play for instance).

Yeah I think Metal Combat is the only 2P game and it's played with 1P being Gunner with Scope and 2P pilot with controller.

I'm sure eBay has some to answer your #1 question.

EDIT:

I am actually going to retract that statement. Searched all over eBay and couldn't find one. So maybe you could make one? I'm sure someone that knows how to make stuff like this could help you out.

Ok, so I have read that super scope won't work on LCD or LED TV.

Why?  it has a receiver, i thought that the signal went through that receiver, what's the f%*^#"g receiver function?  it seems that it works like the zapper gun.

This is my first time with a super scope, can someone explain a little bit more why

Pretty sure the receiver is just an ir receiver, making it wireless.  The actual tracking technology is the same as all the other guns of that era, meaning it needs the scan lines of crt technology to see what's hit on screen.

I wish the point blank games would be re-released on psn, and patched to use the move controller.  They were pretty much the only shooting games I enjoyed as a kid.

Make sure to do some research first.  Not all CRTs are compatible (most notably many VERY late model Sony tubes).

Also be aware the super scope does not work with clone consoles. At least the clones I have tried.

Not to worry on that, I'm not a fan of clone things.  :P

All my video games and consoles are original (or that's what I think lol)

Is there any easy way to tell if it will work or not? I recently got a Sony CRT, but to date haven't gotten any light-gun games, so I don't have any to test.

There's no 100% way to know unless you can find someone else with the same model who's tried it.  That said, I'm about 99% that none of the Sony XBR models will work.
