So, I just got a fairly good deal on a Virtual Boy on eBay for $135.00.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Virtual-Boy-Red-amp-Black-Console-With-AC-Adaptor-Vertical-Force-NTSC-/161446225954?

It seems the stand is missing a piece, I know it is missing the screw that is used for tightening, any idea for a replacement part?

I actually was just reading a topic about the stand on planetvb a few days ago. I'm away from my computer right now so I can't link it.

You could take it to a hardware store and find a bolt that matches up.  I'm sure it's some sort of machine screw.

I don't have my stand at hand to compare but what I can see (with near 100% certainty) is that the bigger black piece is the clicky thing that attaches to the VB itself and seems complete.

The transparent plastic thing and smaller black thingie are decorative pieces.

So all you are missing is the bolt that had plastic hand knob and it's counter part.

You can replace those with suitably long screw or bolt and nut.
Iwould suggest either the bolt or nut (or both) to be the winged kind for easier usage (the hinge is used for adjust ting the tilt of the machine).

Surpricingly I found my stand, and I was right.

Click for bigger image if needed.

Here are the parts in order of assembly.

It seems you are missing these 3 parts.

Part 1 is just nut preventing you from loosening the bolt too much. Not nesessary (see part 3 why).
Part 2 is sort of washer so replace it with normal washer with 18 mm diameter (17 mm if you paint it lightly) and 5mm (or 6mm if painting) hole..
Part 3 is Wing bolt. Metal part's lenght is 40mm with 4mm diameter. As the middle hole of the stand acts as nut (hence no need for Part 1) you must match the theads carefully.

Thanks Arseen, I sent the pic to the seller, just to make sure, though he says that he only has whats in the shot.
At least it has all the proprietary parts.

WHO MAKES A BIPOD AND THINKS IT'S A GOOD IDEA FOR A STAND?!?  DAMNIT NINTENDO, PRESSURE HITS THESE THINGS FROM THE TOP!!!

Sorry.  I love my VB (I have a full US set of games plus a Flashboy+ for homebrew), but I hate hate hate the stand.  I had one that was mostly-broken when I bought it (and became fully broken after), and now I have a second that I'm almost afraid to use because I don't want it to break!

There is no right or wrong answer.

But anything other than vertical is wrong. :P
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I saw on eBay someone is selling 3D printed attachments to mount it on a camera tripod.
After I get mine I might try and make some sort of head strap, with less duct tape than AVGN  :D

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Virtual-Boy-Tripod-Mount-Stand-Replacement-/201144740897?pt=US_Video_Gaming_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item2ed5292c21

Apparently the one I bought, the Nintendo plate is slightly cracked.  :(  I found a 3D model of a site so I can get a new one 3D printed if necessary.
