PC Engine Games
TDIRunner:
So I'm in the market now for PC Engine games since I got a Core Grafx for my birthday. As of right now I'm only looking for Japanese games since I haven't looked into region modding it yet. I know of a few places with PCE games, but I can't read them and therefore can't tell what games they are. Unfortunately, the owner at one store doesn't seem to know either....... and doesn't have prices on them......... I've considered just making an offer to buy everything for relatively cheap, but I still don't know what I'm getting. I'm trying to avoid sports games, or any text based games that I won't be able to read. Shooters or side scrolling platformers would be best.
Is there any good way to determine which games they are? Any database with pictures of PCE games and their corresponding titles? I suppose I can try to get pictures of them and upload them here. I'm sure between all the members here we can figure them out.
Any other suggestions?

Just flip throw ebay's PC-Engine section and compare the covers.

I thought about that, but I'm considering that to be last resort. Depending on the game, it might be kind of tedious finding the one I'm looking for.

I have another related question so I'll just ask it here.
If I do a region modd to the Core Grafx, will I still need an adapter? I've read online where you need a region mod WITH an adapter and I've read online where you only need the region mod.
Just to clarify, I'm talking about playing US games on a Japanese console. I already understand that it is different going the other way around (Japanese games on US system).

When the PC-Engine was brought to North America as the Turbografx-16, NEC rearranged the pin edge connectors. If your system is region modded, that means you have a switch that toggles the pins. Therefore, you don't need an additional adapter. So, does that answer your question?
