PS1 Gameshark question

kingjohn3:

Does anyone know if there is a PS1 gameshark that will work on a PS2 slim? Or do I need to save codes onto a memory card using a PS1 and then put it in a PS2?

Megatron:

There are at least 2 different versions of PS1 gameshark (one came with the original PS2 gameshark) that only uses a disc.  Not sure if it saves to a memory card or not (t doesnt actually make a file, but one may be needed to play).  The only downside to these are the codes are already on the disc and can't be altered.  Meaning you can't add any new codes either.  That said, I have both of these (somewhere) and have used them on a PS2 slim in the ast with no problems.  One is green, and the other purple - the purple one came with the PS2 gameshark.

TDIRunner:

The only PS1 Game Shark I'm familiar with plugged into the serial port on the back of the PS1 (which was removed from later models).  Obviously this wouldn't work any any PS2 models.

I also have a Game Shark for the PS2 which was disc based and saved files to your memory card.  I remember using it to have maximum cash and every car available for Gran Turismo 3.  That reminds me, I need a cover for that disc.  Has anyone ever made a cover for the PS2 Game Shark disc?

So the  disc only version will play in the ps2 slim?

The two disc only versions I have used DO work on slim PS2.  Unfortunately, they are in storage with most of my collection at the moment, so I cannot verify which versions they were.  If I can find anything on them I will post it.
