Does anyone know of a company that has or can do the same thing with NES that Analogue has done that wouldnt charge a car payment or months rent for their product? |

You say "The same thing as..." Insofar as... what? The RGB can be done for... $100ish for parts, then your install fee (either by getting a PC10 PPU or getting one of Viletim's NESRGB boards) A 4score should be theoretically possible to jam right into a project box for not much more than the cost of a 4score and some wires Doing both Famicom and NES slots would be a bit more difficult, but I'm sure some of the advanced modders out there can pull it off (I don't know any, my hookups have retired) My only guess for someone to recreate it all would be Jason from game-tech.us, but I have no idea if he'd be up to it and I honestly don't know how much cheaper he would come in with the work you'd have to do. But anyway, Analogue Interactive has always been about style. You pay the premium for the slick packaging. There's a reason their CMVS (their flagship product before the Analogue NT came out) was 50% more expensive than other, equally well done from a functionality standpoint, CMVSes from other modders: they looked fucking professional. Other CMVSes look very good (I've seen some awesome ones that I would love to buy), but the AI ones look like they were made by SNK. Form over function? Maybe a little. You just gotta decide if that's what you want. |
